Joanne was a lovely person and a good student. We went to elementary school together and then she went to Catholic School. Her parents were Italian catholics. However, I remember she was required to do all her math homework in ink pen with no mistakes, and it was too stressful so she came back to ECHS. One night in 11th grade we phoned each other every hour throughout the night to check in as we were studying for a Latin test the next day. I think she pulled me through! Joanne's father taught World History at ECHS.

I remember Joanne from Girl Scouts; must have been 7th or 8th grade.  Her mother was the leader and the only camping trips I had as a kid were with Girl Scouts.  It's funny that Mary mentioned that Joanne's parents were Italian Catholics because I remember they had a St. Christopher statue on the dashboard of their car.  Every time they filled their backseat (no seatbelts or limits on how many in those days) with girls for an outing, we had to say a prayer for our safe return (must have worked!).  On one camping trip to Burney Falls, we had pitched out tents in a very flat area.  It rained during the night and that flat area was actually a dry creek bed; we were flooded.

We lost touch after high school.  I hope she had a happy life, but she  died  too young in July 2004.

my dear ole buddy... Joanne shared "another world" with me.To be in the Anthony home and share our girl secrets was such a leap for this Carmichael girl.  Joanne married my cousin, Richard Schuler and built their family together. ....thinking of you, Joanne.

I remember her long eyelashes, and being with her family in her warm home. A rose to you, Joanne!

I sat behind Joanne in Geometry Class taught by her father and what a pleasure it was. I remember Joanne as really feminine in nature and her soft brown eyes.  I truly hope she is happy in whatever place in the afterlife she finds herself.

A bouquet of yellow roses for friendship to you Joanne!

With happy remembrances,

Elmer
