Don was one of the many Class standouts!!!  He was in the Navy and was finally discharges for medical reasons. With Mary, his first wife, they had two daughters and now two grand daughters. Mary passed approx. 10 years ago, wherein Don remaried Joan. Joan lives in Aptos, Ca. where Don spent most of his life. Don loved the outdoors where he spent many hours fishing with the likes of  two more standouts, Ned and Nels Borlaug.  Don, rest in peace.

So saddened to learn of Don't passing. He was one of our most popular classmates and I don't recall a time I didn't see a smile on his face. I beleive he went to Chico State after graduation from ECHS and, if so, he probably fit right in as it was known as one of the top 'party schools' in CA at the time. It's sad that 'father time' is taking our classmates away. I was glad I got to see my old next door neighbor, Ken Miller, at our 50th reunion and was shocked to learn of his passing a short time later. I speak to Mike Davidson every week---it's a Sunday night ritual. Mike worked with me setting up all the concerts at the Sac Aud, Governor's Hall, the Elks Building,  in the years 63 to 66, He moved to LA in the late 60's or very early 70's. We got together often down there. When I told him about Don's passing he was saddened as I did not know that they had grown up a few blocks apart in Carmichael, off California Avenue. They were in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts together...and Mike know Don's mom quite well. Needless to say, Mike was saddened to learn the news. RIP, Don...you are remembered with fondness and you bring a smile to our faces.     Fred, Franklin, TN 6/16/17

I would like to second Marya's excellent comment about Don.  I would just like to add that whenever I think of Don, I picture him wearing a button down shirt; he was always a sharp dresser! And, he did always have a smile on his face. He was also friendly and polite.  I'm sorry to hear about the cancer.
